During 2006, Big Mug Software saw the need to provide sophisticated waveform monitors and vectorscopes for the Apple Mac platform. This project grew until it had exceeded the original feature set and it became Monitor Magic.

   One of our great innovations was to bypass Quicktime when capturing video and instead work directly with Firewire hardware. This meant that Big Mug Software could break through a barrier that exists in QuickTime. The barrier stops us from capturing from more than one DV source at a time. This is how our product can be truly innovative and goes beyond any of it's competitors.

   Capture Magic was born when we decided to add direct to disk recording. Now we could deliver something never seen before on the Mac... recording from more than one DV camera at the same time. This really opens the doors for what direct-to-disk video capture can do!
